Mayamang Lalaking Kinupkop ng isang Mahirap na Pamilya

Regnante hails from a rich family. He has never known poverty. He has a driver at his beck and call. His refrigerator is stockpiled for his every thirst and hunger. He doesn't need to work to keep himself full and satisfied.

By society's standards, Regnante was born lucky.

But after a trip with his father, Regnante soon realized how poor he really was.

Since he also came from a poor family Regnante's father asked him to go on a trip in the rural areas to learn about life.

He asked for a kind but poor family to take them in for a week. They were instructed to treat the father-and-son normally, meaning they have to help with the chores and anything the family needs.

After the week, Regnante's father asked him what he learned with his stay.

Regnante simply answered:

”Well, isa lang ang aso natin at apat ang sa kanila. Sa garden natin meron tayong swimming pool, sila naman ay may sariling ilog na walang katapusan ang umaagos na tiubig. 

May mga mamahalin tayong ilaw, sila naman may mga bituin sa gabi. 

Mayroon tayong patio, sila mayroong walang hanggang mamamasdan ang kagandahan ng kapaligiran.

Nakakabili tayo ng pagkain at sila ay nagtatanim at gumagawa ng sariling pagkain. 

Meron tayong mataas na bakod para protektahan tayo, sila naman ay may mabubuti at mapagmalasakit na kapitbahay at mga kaibigan upang protektahan sila.”

Regnante’s father was shocked at his response.

“Maraming salamat Daddy, dahil ipinamalas mo sa akin kung gaano tayo kahirap,” he continued.

This is a classic story of the importance of abstract objects like love, freedom, and hope. It teaches us to value ideals more than material things.
